Trek now into third year

The Motor Neurone Disease Association's Walk to D'Feet will take place on Sunday, September 14. It will start at The White Swan in High Street South, Dunstable, at 10.30am for 11am start, when refreshments will be served, courtesy of the pub's landlord Declan Duggan.

The trek, which is in its third year, also finishes at the pub, when a barbecue will be served from 2pm.

Already around £3,000 has been raised for the charity through the event and local organiser, Wendy Currie, said: "We are trying to build the walk up year by year, making it an annual event."

Wendy lost her mum, Ivy, to the disease in 2007.

Supporters can complete the whole walk or drop out when they have had enough, as long as they register with Wendy before the day.

Anybody interested in joining in should contact Wendy Currie on 01582 527438.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
