Drug paraphernalia and cash seized

A 22-year-old man was arrested in Hockwell Ring on Monday, August 18, on suspicion of money laundering.

Uniformed officers and PCSOs from the Luton West Safer Neighbourhood Team, using a drugs warrant, searched an address in Playford Square at about 7am.

Drug paraphernalia was seized, as well as £1,000, believed to be the proceeds of crime.

Inspector Alex House, responsible for neighbourhood policing in the area, said: "We know from speaking to the people who live and work in Hockwell Ring that one of the priority areas they want us to tackle is drugs and the criminality and anti-social behaviour that is linked to it.

"This morning's arrest is just one of many that have been carried out and will continue to be executed as we make inroads into tackling crime in the area."

The man arrested was being interviewed at Luton Police Station on Tuesday, August 19.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team would like to hear from anyone who has information about people committing crime in the area.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
