Teenagers enjoying their school summer holidays have been falling prey to thieves, prompting police to issue a safety warning.
Detectives say people should be on their guard after 11 robberies happened in the first two weeks of August.
Most of the robberies happened in the afternoon and were carried out by groups of three or four people, targeting mainly teenagers.
Two of the incidents happened in the town centre near the Galaxy Centre, seven took place in either Lewsey Park or Brantwood Park, and a further two happened in Axe Close and Flint Close in Marsh Farm.
Mobile telephones, bags and purses were among the items taken from the victims.
Det Con Amy Kelly, of Luton's robbery squad, said anyone with information relating to the robberies should contact the police.
She said: "These areas are very busy during the day and we would ask anyone with information relating to these crimes to come forward and assist with this investigation."
Anyone who witnessed any of the robberies should call 01582 394322, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
