Artist Ben Hodson's striking work on show until end of August
Is Luton nothing more than an arid moon of London? That is the question Luton-based artist and photographer Ben Hodson is asking with his new exhibition at the town's central library.

Ben, 22, is showcasing the photographic project in The Gallery space on the second floor of the venue until the end of August.

The display is based around two main collections of work, the first of which watches the daily lives of Luton people using black and white street imagery.

And the second set of art looks at the environment in which the residents find themselves, using large scale photo-montages.

The striking photomontages, which go up to one metre by 2.2 metres in size, are created by cutting, sticking and arranging 200 photographs onto hardboard.

Ben, who has just completed his second year of a degree in Digital Photography at the University Of Bedfordshire, has produced a booklet to support the work and the original pieces are for sale.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
