Brazilian Soccer Schools help to develop skills

Salsa United won the inaugural Dallow Streets Futebol de Salao final at the Dallow Road Community Centre with victory against Watch & Learn.

The tournament was the culmination of a programme run by Brazilian Soccer Schools Bedfordshire which provided coaching for local youngsters.

The Brazilian Soccer Schools, which run all around the country, encourage the use of a smaller ball – Futebol de Salao – in order to develop individual skills and the amount of time spent with the ball.

Haroon Ahmed, the Dallow Road Community Centre manager, said: "The response and enthusiasm from the boys and girls attending has been tremendous, with all gaining new skills and confidence on the ball."

The weekly Brazilian Soccer School sessions resume in September and anyone interested should contact Daniel Walker on 07968 778681 or email d.walker@icfds.com.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
