Town head to Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend looking for their first win at Molineux in the top flight since January 21, 1984, over 40 years ago.
That day, Garry Parker opened the scoring for the visitors, as although Luton-born John Pender equalised, Paul Walsh’s instinctive overhead kick in the closing stages ensured the points went back to Bedfordshire. To find out just who was in the Hatters line-up that day, see below.
9. FW: Brian Stein
His jinking runs were proving a real handful for the home side's defence, finding Bunn for an opportunity that he fired wide, also teeing up Paul Walsh who tested Burridge in the hosts' goal as well. Ever-present for Luton as he finished second top scorer in the league, netting nine goals from his 42 appearances. Photo: Hatters Heritage
10. FW: Trevor Aylott
Went closer than most in the first half, his header clipping the top of the bar. Grabbed the assist for Walsh's winner in the closing stages, as he rose highest to meet Horton's free kick and find his striking partner to secure all three points for the visitors. Notched eight goals in 20 Division One matches for the Hatters, as he surprisingly left in the summer, joining Crystal Palace in exchange for Vince Hilaire. Photo: Hatters Heritage
11. FW: Paul Walsh
Hugely important part to play in the victory as his early cross-shot wasn't dealt with by John Burridge for Parker to open the scoring. Forced the keeper into a top save but then bagged a terrific winner, netting an acrobatic volley after Aylott had won a header from Horton's free kick. One of the 11 goals he scored from 39 matches to finish as the Hatters' top scorer in the league that term. Big money transfer to Liverpool in the summer, snapped up by the Reds for a fee of £700,000. Photo: Hatters Heritage

Came on to replace Donaghy in the last minute, gaining his second outing of the season for the Hatters. Broke into the first team in the final few weeks, as he made 15 more appearances, before opting to go to Plymouth Argyle in the summer. Photo: Hatters Heritage
