Thomas urges Town get back to winning ways

Rather than worrying about getting in the play-offs the Hatters need to rediscover how to win according to new centre-back Wayne Thomas, writes Mark Wood.

On whether Luton can still make the play-offs, he said: “Listen, there’s always enough time and you have to be positive and you have to aim for the play-offs.

“As far as I’m personally concerned and a few of the others are looking at, we just need to get a win under out belts and stop worrying about the play-offs. Just win the next game and just try and build momentum from that.

“We keep talking about going into the play-offs and into promotion and this that and the other. At the end of the day we need to win a game of football and that’s it, the be all and end all of it.”

Luton haven’t won a league match in eight games, and, speaking after Saturday’s 3-2 home defeat to Mansfield, Thomas’ solution to rectifying that was simple.

He added: “Win. We have to go and do what we did second half. I thought for a large part of the second half we were the better team, we were in the ascendancy and we looked like going on and winning the game.
