Rookie dancer takes second place in national contest
Rookie dancing star Krisha Modha has scooped second place in the UK Bollywood Dance Championships - just seven months after she started learning the dance style.

The twinkletoed eight-year-old wowed judges, as well as family and friends, when she was awarded the runner-up trophy in the national competition earlier this month.

Krisha, of Kidner Close, Luton, entered the contest four months ago, just 12 weeks after starting Bollywood dance classes in Milton Keynes and Hatch End.

She auditioned for the four to seven year olds solo category, as she was only aged seven at the time of entry.

The Bushmead Primary School pupil finished in the top 12 out of 300 dancers, sailing in to the semi-finals where she finished in the top six.

Her school teachers have been very supportive, allowing the little girl day release from lessons for competitions, so her parents, Hitesh and Bina Modha were thrilled when she came home in second place.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
